Can I share a secret with you?

I have been learning to read and write again. I know - this from a lady who has a blog and dished on how to read several books a year? (Although the hiatus should have clued you in on the writing bit. Except you thought I was away because I was busy reading a hundred books, ha! )

Anyway, when I think about why this happened, I think that I let reading become a chore - something I had to do to get something else. I finally let myself believe that I did not have time for it, that I was too busy for it. It was something I had to remember to do, like breathing or swallowing spit.

And like the young girl I blogged about here, I kept trying to find the right balance forgetting that if I just let my body (my mind really), it would do what it instinctively does.

Breathe. Read. Write. Repeat.

So there is the secret – I have been learning to read ferociously* and write desperately again. But I guess it's not a secret anymore. And oh! It does feel good to not overthink and just do it.

In the spirit of my recently newly-acquired inspiration, I’d like you to join me in revisiting old hobbies and indulgences. Do you have anything like that - something you stopped doing and made excuses about? Please pick it up again (even if you're terrible at it. Especially if you're terrible at it. Only if you love it though or it is beneficial)

Then tell me about it in the comment section I would love to be inspired by you too.

And should you get tired in the process please remember:

Breathe. Just breathe.

P.S – The original word beside the asterisk was “Voraciously” but my Google Speech-to-text function thought I said Ferocious and I let it be. I like the idea of that – I am a ferocious reader.

Insert lionface emoji. 😊
